The 31st Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) that was held in Indonesia's Bali concluded Thursday with results to be brought to the upcoming 15thUnited Nations Framework Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC) scheduled for December in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The IPCC panel issued a Assessment Report that contains scientific study conducted by 430 delegations from 23 countries attending the panel.

In frame of IPCC, Indonesia expected the developed countries to provide funds to support the capacity building and finance scientific researches on climate change conducted locally by the developing countries.

"Developing countries are the areas facing the most severe climate change impacts. With accurate and faster result of scientific researches, it will help the developed countries in anticipating impacts of climate change for the sake of global community," Indonesian Climate Change Council Chairman Rachmat Witoelar said.

He added that he had asked IPCC to undertake particular study on climate change phenomenon and its impacts in Indonesia.

Indonesian delegation highlighted carbon emission and absorption issues in the meeting that was held since October 26.

Indonesia is also expected to become the frontrunner in climate change issue as it has vast rainforests and sea that can be the world's lungs and 'ventilation'.

During the occasion, IPCC Chairman Dr. Rajendra Pachauri said that cooperation between countries in IPCC must be improved in the following years so as to provide scientific materials to take policies related to climate change.

Besides that, Rajendra said that the IPCC meeting in Bali also discussed the analyses of social impacts generated by climate change.
