Highlights of Chinese Premier's tour in Copenhagen

The following are the highlights of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's tour for climate talks in Copenhagen, where he had met with Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moo, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

He also met with the German chancellor, president of the Maldives, Sudanese presidential assistant, as well as his counterparts of Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Grenada, Britain and Japan:     

Copenhagen -- Wen met with Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moo here on Thursday.

Wen told Ban that China attached great importance to the UN role in dealing with global climate change.     

Copenhagen -- Wen met with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lulada Silva here on Thursday to exchange views on cooperation in dealing with global climate change.     

Copenhagen -- Wen met with President of the Maldives Mohammed Nasheed, Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Grenadian Prime Minister Tillman Thomas and Sudanese Presidential Assistant Nafie Ali Nafie on the issue of climate change on the sidelines of the UN-led talks being held here.

He said China and other developing countries, including underdeveloped countries, small island states and African countries, all face the pressing tasks of economic development and eradication of poverty.     

Copenhagen -- Wen met with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama on the sidelines of the UN-led climate talks being held here.

He said the Copenhagen climate talks have reached the decisive moment and all parties should focus on consensus in a future-oriented manner and seek common grounds while shelving differences so as to bring hope to the world people.
