Beijing High-level Conference on Climate Change: Technology Development and Technoloy Transfer was opened on Nov 7, 2008 at the Great Hall of the People. The conference is jointly organized by the Government of China and the United Nations. Chinese Premier WEN Jiabao presented the opening session and addressed. Mr. ZHANG Ping, the chairman of NDRC, chaired the opening session.

In the following high-level forum, Mr. ZHANG Ping made a speech. Mr. XIE Zhenhua, the vice chairman of NDRC, Mr. SHA Zukang, Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs of UN, was co-chaired the forum. Mr. SHA Zukang, Ministers from some countries and officials from UN voicing views and proposing measures on technology development and technology transfer about climate change. About hundreds participants come from different countries, international organizations and domestic institutions were invited to the conference.
