（2014-12-05）Peru’s organized COP20 will leave “a legacy” for the world by creating the draft containing the new targets needed to face climate change, expressed on Friday Peru’s Environment minister, Manuel Pulgar-Vidal.

The draft will also enable a permanent debate about this relevant matter, added Pulgar-Vidal.

The minister, who also presides over the COP20, highlighted negotiations conducted so far.

“We want to build a work legacy, while we advance towards success of a process, which will finish next year with the draft presentation,” explained the minister.

The Conference of the Parties (COP20) is currently being held in Lima, Peru. The gathering seeks to create an agreement draft to be inked by member nations during the 2015’s COP21 to be held in Paris.

The agreements will engage the nations in reducing the greenhouse gas emissions.

The current debate will also enable Peru to start “a discussion on sustainable development,” he added.

COP20 will come to an end on December 12 this year.
