(2017-05-19)Polish Environment Minister Jan Szyszko has been chosen to preside over the COP24 climate summit which will be held in Poland in 2018.
“[Szyszko] will manage the presidency and organisation of the climate summit,” a ministry spokesman told the PAP news agency, adding that the choice was made by the climate-change committee of the United Nations.
Last year Szyszko said that during the COP24 summit, Poland intends “to demonstrate how to neutralise [carbon] emissions using innovation and CO2 sequestration by forests and soils to the other states.”
The COP24 summit will be held in November 2018.
